No, I will not continue to use an appropriate BVD vaccination strategy on mature cows.

The program that you have chosen will not eliminate BVD from your herd. If you do not test your herd for BVD PI status and cull the positive animals, you will be relying on herd immunity to prevent the formation of new PI calves. In order to maintain herd immunity, the mature cows must be vaccinated annually in addition to appropriate heifer vaccinations. Please reconsider your BVD control strategy.

Work closely with your veterinarian to evaluate these recommendations and make the best choices for your herd.

If you would like to revise some of your answers, please close out of the program and go through BVD CONSULT again from the beginning. Changing some of your answers may change the other recommendations, or the emphasis that is placed on a particular practice.
