Yes, I will sell to slaughter all cows that do not give birth to a healthy calf prior to the next breeding season.

This is a wise decision.  To avoid spreading Trich to other herds, these cows should be marketed for slaughter only.  Culling these cows greatly decreases the likelihood of the cows spreading Trich to uninfected bulls.  There have been reports of infected cows producing healthy calves and maintaining the infection into the next breeding season.  These "carrier" cows are reported to occur in less than 1% of infected cows.
